Position Overview

Hilltop Holdings is seeking a Credit Risk Quant Analyst to play a pivotal role in the quality assurance processes associated with the Allowance for Credit Loss ("ACL"). This position will involve supporting model executions and documentation, user acceptance testing for model enhancements, and preparing presentations for committees to ensure the integrity of data utilized. The individual will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date Quality Control Plan that aligns with established operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute quality assurance tasks for ACL.
  • Act as an internal expert for the ACL team regarding quality assurance matters.
  • Establish and uphold a reputation for high credibility as a responsive quality assurance professional.
  • Ensure compliance with ACL quality assurance protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, to meet expectations and deadlines.
  • Assist in researching economic and industry trends to provide insights for U.S. and regional economic forecasts presented to senior management during Asset Liability Committee meetings.
  • Develop and execute data queries from various loan systems, preparing reports to support periodic enterprise stress testing and regulatory disclosures for quantitative models in the ACL computation.
  • Contribute to the drafting and maintenance of ACL documentation quarterly, including attribution materials for working groups, executives, and committees, as well as other credit-related presentations as required.
  • Collaborate with data governance partners to create processes that ensure data integrity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, data science, data analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • One to three years of analytical experience, with a comprehensive understanding of the banking sector and awareness of industry trends.
  • Familiarity with Moody's analytic products is preferred (e.g., CreditLens).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven analytical capabilities and strong attention to detail.
  • Exemplary time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes.
  • Strong PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with various organizational levels to influence results.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and navigate sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.
Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.
