Junior Credit Analyst

Organizational Overview:
This role is integral to the credit evaluation process within our organization.

Primary Objective:
The main responsibility is to assess and evaluate credit applications submitted by various departments. This involves conducting thorough research and financial analysis to ascertain the creditworthiness of applicants. The analyst will compile relevant data, borrower profiles, industry insights, and other critical information into comprehensive reports for review and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Gather and analyze essential financial and credit information to evaluate the risk associated with loan applications.
2. Perform financial assessments focusing on cash flow, liquidity, and leverage metrics.
3. Identify strengths and weaknesses in loan applications.

4. Ensure adherence to established procedures when preparing analyses, reports, and presentations for management, including accurate historical financial documentation and well-prepared projections that emphasize merits, risks, and mitigation strategies.

5. Document credit requests thoroughly in the required format.

6. Conduct research to assess the quality and reliability of information, including statistical data analysis, financial statement review, industry evaluations, and management assessments.

7. Collaborate with senior team members and commercial bankers to evaluate loan packages and gather necessary documentation. Interaction with other departments within the organization may be required.
8. Aim to reduce processing time while ensuring comprehensive documentation of credit requests.
9. Participate in training sessions as needed.
10. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- At least 9 credit hours in accounting
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Proven leadership experience through extracurricular activities and internships
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Familiarity with credit risk analysis and underwriting methodologies
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, along with other database systems

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
