Position: Product Strategy Manager

Department: Purchasing, Distribution
Employment Type: Full-Time

The Product Strategy Manager is crucial in managing a product portfolio, with a focus on fostering sustainable and profitable growth. This role involves leading the development and execution of product strategies, managing portfolios, and establishing pricing frameworks. Collaboration across various departments and engagement with clients are essential components of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute product line strategies that align with both global and local category objectives.
  • Direct the vision and implementation of product line strategies, ensuring effective communication and prioritization.
  • Evaluate current business performance to identify optimal growth opportunities.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and incorporate insights into product management.
  • Ensure ethical practices with suppliers, emphasizing quality and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Enhance profitability through strategic pricing and margin management.
  • Establish pricing frameworks for product lines, including minimum and target pricing for SKUs.
  • Develop business plans to outline growth, revenue, and profit objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales teams, providing product and market expertise.
  • Optimize the product portfolio at the SKU level, making decisions on new introductions and discontinuations.
  • Work within cross-functional teams to identify and implement value chain improvements.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for assigned products.
  • Monitor costs and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Ensure targeted turnover rates for all items in the portfolio.
  • Manage excess and surplus inventories.

Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • An MBA is highly preferred.

Travel Requirements: Up to 40%

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Comfortable with extended periods of computer use and typing.
  • Able to sit and stand for prolonged durations.
  • Flexible work schedule as needed.
