Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with company leaders and multidisciplinary teams to initiate, plan, execute, and monitor public service projects.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships throughout all project phases, including marketing, planning, design, production meetings, and construction.
  • Review engineering plans and project submissions for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Ensure adherence to development codes, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements through thorough quality reviews.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in public service project delivery.
  • Provide necessary information and support to contractors, engineers, developers, and the public.
  • Work with leadership to assess talent needs for current and future projects.
  • Perform additional duties as required by project demands.
Supervisory Duties
  • Oversee daily departmental workflows and coordinate project tasks from inception to completion.
  • Lead and manage staff to effectively direct resources in a positive and productive manner.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and facilitate discussions regarding goals and training.
  • Address production challenges and resolve conflicts related to personalities, deadlines, and project requirements.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for new employees and oversee training for new team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of public works projects, policies, and standards.
  • Familiarity with local and state regulations and codes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
  • Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Hands-on experience with design principles using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil preferred) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Civil Engineer, focusing on transportation, public infrastructure, drainage, utilities, and civic projects.
  • Professional Engineer license with the ability to quickly obtain reciprocity in Oregon.
  • A proven track record of successful project management and the ability to foster long-term business relationships.
