About the Role

Riverstrong is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our team in a start-up Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. As an IT Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in contributing to our growth and success by providing technical expertise and consultation on cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain small-to-mid-size business IT network, server, and cloud technology stacks.
  • Develop standards for technology, documentation, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, best practices, delivery processes, templates, protocols, and training assets.
  • Support multiple customers via ticketing system as a Managed Service Provider IT consultant.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff members by helping them achieve technical career goals.
  • Configure, monitor, backup, secure, and implement firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and other industry standard networking devices.
  • Build, troubleshoot, migrate, and maintain physical or virtual Microsoft Server infrastructures hosted on-prem or Azure cloud with Active Directory domains.
  • Take and resolve technical escalations from the Support and Engineering Teams.
  • Architecture, engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting of networks, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, etc., and infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, servers, VM, AWS, Azure, Windows OS, Data Center, SaaS platforms, etc.
  • Take ownership of IT projects and work with the project team to deliver the scope of infrastructure SOWs.
  • Ensure redundancy, availability, and security of networks or server infrastructure from vulnerabilities.
  • Keep current on the latest technologies and innovations and determine the best investments for the business and our clients.
  • Create a positive experience for our customers and staff in all engagements.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in IT, security or network systems, server management support, or network administrator positions.
  • SME Experience in the following: Network architecture, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, APs, Network Assessment Tools, Wireshark, Nmap, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Active Directory, M365, and Azure environments.
  • SME experience with Windows Server, virtualization, AWS, SaaS/Cloud platforms, CRM, perimeter security, vulnerability tests, and protocols.
  • IT industry-specific credentials/designations a plus (Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Meraki, ITIL, CompTIA, etc.).
  • Experience with ConnectWise RMM, PSA, and other products highly preferred.
  • Experience with ITIL, incident management, and problem management.
  • Ability to utilize multiple resources to determine root causes and resolutions of technology problems and incidents.
  • Additional certifications are preferred, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), CompTIA Network+
