Division Insight: The Youth & Family Services (YFS) division is committed to assisting parents and youth in their journey towards health and relationship restoration. Collaborating with human services, child welfare systems, juvenile courts, and community service providers, we aim to equip individuals and families with the necessary resources and skills for positive living.

Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Regional Outreach Worker to enhance public awareness and deliver outreach services related to Problem Gambling within Adult Criminal Justice Services (ACJS) and Juvenile Justice Services (JJS) across the North and Northwest regions. This role involves identifying referral sources and community services for individuals facing substance use, mental health, or gambling challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual and in-person presentations for community partners, including behavioral health facilities, criminal justice institutions, and educational institutions, focusing on gambling awareness in sports betting.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee outreach initiatives within designated regions, such as distributing educational materials at health fairs and community events.
  • Ensure that criminal justice partners are informed about TASC's capabilities in serving the gambling-affected population.
  • Collaborate with TASC area Administrators to identify and develop referral opportunities and processes.
  • Maintain a detailed daily activity log, documenting prospective service providers, prevention organizations, client interactions, and community engagements.
  • Prepare and present reports on program operations, service evaluations, and resource utilization.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of community opportunities and resources.
  • Engage actively with communities to secure resources for debt relief, gambling support, and other essential services.
  • Represent TASC in consultations with external professionals to foster collaboration and coordination.
  • Promote a positive work environment by maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, leadership, and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred, along with four to seven years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years of outreach program experience is preferred.
  • Strong independent work ethic and excellent presentation skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with best practices in gambling, substance use, and recovery support services is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the criminal justice system is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations is important.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Work Environment: TASC offers a hybrid work model, requiring employees to work on-site three days a week with the option for remote work up to two days a week.
