Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Bilingual Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at Youth Guidance. The successful candidate will work closely with school leadership and staff to develop and implement effective parent and family engagement strategies, ensuring that parents and caregivers are empowered to partner with school leaders to champion their children's education and social emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Youth Guidance staff, school staff, and community partners to design and implement comprehensive parent and family engagement initiatives, including workshops, classes, and activities that promote positive program outcomes.
  • Develop and lead training programs for parents, caregivers, and school staff to enhance their understanding of parental involvement strategies and best practices.
  • Coordinate and implement research-based approaches to support parent engagement, including family-friendly school climate initiatives and community outreach efforts.
  • Provide leadership for the Annual Youth Guidance Parent Leadership Conference (PLC) and work with school staff to ensure active parent engagement in the event.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community-based partners to strengthen alignment of resources and maximize impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of parent involvement activities, reports, surveys, funding, and annual program evaluations, ensuring timely submission of all required documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in a field related to education, social work, or community development.
  • 3-5 years of experience in parent and family engagement, community outreach, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and training skills, with the ability to engage and motivate parents, caregivers, and school staff.
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice.
  • Knowledge of family engagement research and literature, with a deep understanding of the importance of cultural competence and community-based approaches.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets, mobilize resources, and secure funding to support program goals.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (or other languages as required by the organization).
