Position Summary
The Field Operations Supervisor is expected to embody the core principles of Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and effective team leadership. The supervisor will play a crucial role in supporting our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, ensuring the protection of employees, clients, and assets, and facilitating a safe return home for all team members each day. Success in this position is achieved through diligence, integrity, and personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Area Manager and General Manager in overseeing the team of safety professionals.
  • Engage in daily collaboration with all Area Staff to promote Continuous Improvement across all business functions.
  • Provide direct supervision to field crews.
  • Balance Field and Office Responsibilities, with approximately 80% of time spent in the field and 20% in the office.
  • Prioritize safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention as key business focuses.
  • Safeguard the company's workforce, clients, and assets from losses, injuries, and accidents by enforcing safe work practices.
  • Develop the skills and knowledge of company drivers.
  • Support the Area Manager in addressing performance issues with Delivery Drivers.
  • Assist in resolving employee and client concerns.
  • Build relationships with internal and external clients to achieve objectives and explore new business opportunities.
  • Support Account Managers in conducting field inspections, attending pre-job meetings, and collaborating with clients and teams in the field as necessary.
  • Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of customer service issues while maintaining high standards of service and communication with Dispatch and Account Managers.
  • Review daily schedules to ensure crews arrive on time for assignments.
  • Monitor daily employee matters, including timekeeping, safety discussions, customer issues, and training needs.
  • Facilitate team-building initiatives and maintain regular communication with team members.
  • Engage in the training of new and existing employees to enhance retention, efficiency, and reduce labor costs.
  • Obtain ATSSA and state-specific certifications.
  • Become a subject matter expert in work zone setup/design and professional flagging.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A 4-year degree in a business-related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience leading teams of 20 or more individuals.
  • Ability and willingness to connect with field-level clients and contacts.
  • Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Proactive in building work relationships with team members.
  • Contributes to the engagement and ongoing development of AWP Safety personnel.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems.
  • Commitment to promoting and adhering to safe workplace practices.
  • Valid Driver's License without any suspensions or revocations.

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 base salary plus bonus.
