About the Role

The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a skilled Employee Relations Specialist to join its People team. This role will handle employee complaints, disputes, and performance matters, ensuring fair treatment and compliance with organizational policies and employment laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and respond to employee complaints and potential violations of the Center's policies;
  • Lead workplace investigations, including intake, planning, interviewing, and writing investigation reports;
  • Maintain and manage administrative record-keeping related to workplace investigations;
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff and develop training and other supports for managers on topics such as giving feedback and communication techniques;
  • Visit program site locations to connect with staff and deepen relations;
  • Coordinate and consult with the Legal Team on investigations and other employee relations matters;
  • Assist with other projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required;
  • Minimum of 5 years as an HR Generalist or related HR experience, including 3-4 years of experience conducting investigations in response to employee complaints;
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills, a collaborative approach to problem-solving, and exceptional organizational and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and maintain confidentiality and discretion;
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
