The Engineering Operations Manager is tasked with the comprehensive daily management of all site implementations, site summaries, MAC installations, and other significant responsibilities within the IT portfolio of the organization.

This role involves leading a team comprising systems administrators, network engineers, and MAC installers.

The Engineering Operations Manager will oversee the daily assignments and ensure the successful execution of all activities mentioned above for the team.

This position also entails accountability for the performance and professional growth of the Engineering Operations team, collaborating closely with the Chief of Operations and Architecture to ensure optimal resource allocation in alignment with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).


Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will manage the client/server engineering team in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

This manager will serve as the primary point of contact for the Chief of Operations and Architecture regarding all updates and task assignments related to the Engineering Operations team.


Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing all task-level assignments within the client/server engineering team
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team
  • Adapting to frequent priority changes based on customer directives
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with customer SLAs relevant to the client/server engineering team (e.g., system uptime)
  • Promoting automation initiatives to enhance efficiency across tasks and projects
  • Driving standardization efforts within the client/server engineering team
  • Maintaining effective communication and coordination with customers and managers regarding engineering needs
  • Overall management of a team of approximately 20 full-time employees

Providing mentorship to team members to enhance skill sets and support their professional development.

As a prerequisite for employment, candidates must successfully complete both a medical and psychological evaluation mandated by the customer.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to be considered
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards and best practices in client/server engineering and systems administration
  • A minimum of 10 years of cumulative experience in an IT discipline (client/server engineering, systems administration, systems engineering, software engineering, etc.)
  • Experience in developing training programs to align team skills with business requirements
  • Experience with programs that implement IT solutions
  • Proven experience leading technical teams, including subcontractors
  • Familiarity with all phases of the systems development lifecycle
  • Expertise in managing teams in a fast-paced operational setting
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and communication is essential.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent professional experience and specialized training
  • Technical certifications (e.g., MTA, MCSA, MCSE)
  • ScrumMaster or other Agile certifications

Compensation:


Salary Range: $122,000 - $220,900. The compensation range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary.

Factors considered in determining an offer include responsibilities of the role, education, experience, skills, and internal equity, as well as market alignment and applicable legal requirements.
