Operations Engineering Manager

The Operations Engineering Manager for the Origin IV initiative is tasked with the comprehensive daily management of all site implementations, site summaries, MAC installations, and other significant responsibilities within the client's IT framework. This role involves leading a team of systems administrators, network specialists, and MAC installers. The Operations Engineering Manager will oversee the daily assignments and successful execution of all mentioned activities for the team. This position is accountable for the performance and professional growth of the Engineering Operations team and will collaborate closely with the Chief of Operations and Architecture, ensuring optimal resource allocation to meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will supervise the client/server engineering team in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

This manager will serve as the primary liaison to the Chief of Operations and Architecture for all updates and task management related to the Engineering Operations team.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:


• Overseeing all task-level assignments within the client/server engineering team

• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the client/server engineering team

• Adapting to frequent priority changes based on customer directives

• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with customer SLAs relevant to the client/server engineering team (e.g., system uptime)

• Leading automation initiatives to enhance efficiency across tasks and projects

• Identifying and implementing standardization efforts within the client/server engineering team

• Facilitating effective communication and coordination among clients and managers regarding engineering needs

• Holding overall responsibility for a team of approximately 20 full-time employees

• Mentoring team members to develop skills and foster professional growth

As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete both a required medical and psychological evaluation.

Basic Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.


• A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is mandatory for consideration.

• Extensive knowledge of industry standards and best practices in client/server engineering and systems administration

• At least 10 years of cumulative experience in an IT discipline (client/server engineering, systems administration, systems engineering, software engineering, etc.)

• Proven experience in developing training programs to align team skills with business objectives

• Background in programs implementing IT solutions

• Experience leading technical teams, including subcontractors

• Familiarity with all phases of the systems development lifecycle

• Expertise in managing teams in a fast-paced operational setting

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities

• Strong customer service orientation

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and communication

Preferred Qualifications:


• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience and specialized training

• Relevant technical certifications (e.g., MTA, MCSA, MCSE)

• ScrumMaster or other Agile certifications

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,000 - $220,900.00

The pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
