Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to a vital program in the aerospace sector. This role necessitates an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to commence. The Systems Engineering function is essential in assisting the Government with the management of risks, challenges, and opportunities throughout the Enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in and/or facilitate risk assessment meetings, monitoring technical risks associated with the Enterprise and launch vehicles.

- Liaise with Government system engineering protocols, providing technical assistance to the Enterprise Management Framework, and ensuring the integration of system engineering solutions across the contract.

- Deliver critical system engineering services to government clients executing the Enterprise Management Framework.

- Engage in all facets of system engineering, from the initial identification of risks, opportunities, and challenges at the operational level to the corporate processes.

- Steer the direction of all risks, opportunities, and challenges that influence corporate-level decisions. Offer technical services for corporate-level System Engineering meetings and status tracking.

- Provide technical support to government clients for tracking and evolving launch vehicle capabilities through the EMF process to fulfill mission requirements and manage fleet-wide risks and issues.

- Formulate cross-program system engineering standards for the Enterprise Management Framework.

- Collaborate with the CLSIC team to offer system engineering insights to mission integrators and capability managers, enhance EMF awareness, and oversee new initiatives to support the execution of the customer Knowledge Management strategy.

- Review and assess key System Engineering documents for technical accuracy.

- Develop and evaluate technical assessments and presentations for leadership reviews.

- Produce integrated risk status reports and presentations for Weekly Staff Meetings.

- Prepare and deliver documentation while coordinating the execution of all major System Engineering Reviews for the Enterprise.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with seven (7) years of experience; PhD or JD with four (4) years of experience.

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in space launch operations.

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in government system engineering.

Required Skills:

- Proven ability to cultivate effective working relationships with various government agencies and mission partners.

- In-depth knowledge of the system engineering process, including risk and opportunity management, integration of system engineering issues across programs, and tracking of enterprise and technical launch vehicle risks.

- Familiarity with risk management tools and associated data sharing platforms (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint).
