The Engineering Operations Manager is tasked with the comprehensive daily oversight of all site implementations, site summaries, MAC installations, and other significant responsibilities within the client's IT framework.

This role involves leading a team of systems administrators, network engineers, and MAC installers.

The Engineering Operations Manager will ensure the daily assignments and successful execution of all previously mentioned activities for the team.

This position is accountable for the performance and professional growth of the Engineering Operations team and will collaborate closely with the Chief of Operations and Architecture, ensuring that appropriate resources are allocated to meet the specified requirements and maintain service levels as per established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).


Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will supervise the client/server engineering team in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

This manager will serve as the primary contact for the Chief of Operations and Architecture regarding all status updates and task assignments related to the Engineering Operations team.


Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing functional management of all task-level assignments within the client/server engineering team
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the client/server engineering team
  • Adapting to frequent priority changes as directed by customer needs
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with customer SLAs relevant to the client/server engineering team (e.g., system uptime)
  • Leading automation initiatives to enhance efficiency across tasks and projects
  • Identifying and promoting standardization efforts within the client/server engineering team
  • Facilitating effective communication and coordination among clients and managers regarding engineering requirements
  • Overall management of a team comprising approximately 20 full-time employees

Mentoring team members to develop their skills and foster professional growth is essential.

As a prerequisite for employment, candidates must successfully complete both a customer-mandated medical and psychological evaluation.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to be eligible
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards and best practices concerning client/server engineering and systems administration
  • A minimum of 10 years of cumulative experience in an IT discipline (client/server engineering, systems administration, systems engineering, software engineering, etc.)
  • Experience in developing a training program to align team skills with business objectives
  • Proven experience with programs implementing IT solutions
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, including subcontractors
  • Familiarity with all phases of the systems development lifecycle
  • Expertise in managing teams in a fast-paced operational setting
  • Exemplary leadership capabilities
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and communication is crucial.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent professional experience and specialized training
  • Technical certifications (e.g., MTA, MCSA, MCSE)
  • ScrumMaster or other Agile certifications
