Position Overview:

The Deputy Clerk plays a vital role in managing operational tasks within a dynamic, high-volume office environment. This position is essential in providing support to the Clerk of Court and judicial officers.

Key Responsibilities:

The Deputy Clerk is responsible for ensuring that court directives are carried out efficiently, and that legal documents are prepared accurately, adhering to established policies and judicial guidelines.

Essential duties include:

  • Preparing comprehensive court documents in line with established protocols.
  • Inputting data into the automated Case Management System and digitizing documents.
  • Coordinating court schedules and managing case-related matters.
  • Drafting correspondence, court forms, and filing necessary documents.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Responding to phone inquiries and assisting clients at the service counter, including processing payments and assessing fines.
  • Engaging with a diverse clientele, including attorneys and law enforcement, in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrating the ability to multitask and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

A High School diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is highly preferred.

Ideal candidates will possess significant experience in court operations, business, or office environments and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.

Successful applicants should be well-organized, capable of working independently and collaboratively, and possess strong time management skills, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
