Patient Access Representative Midtown

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Access Representative to join our team at Avenue 360 Health and Wellness. As a key member of our healthcare delivery system, you will be the first point of contact for patients and play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome patients and direct them to the services they need, providing clear explanations of available services, payment categories, and billing procedures.
- Sign in patients, update patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and enter new patients into the Clinical Tracking and Management Program (CTMP).
- Accurately schedule appointments, direct walk-in patients and emergencies, and ensure that all charts are in compliance with documentation requirements.
- Answer incoming calls, route them to the appropriate staff, and work closely with provider staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize waiting times.
- Communicate patient problems to the Clinical Nurse Manager or designee, and maintain a clean and organized clinic lobby area.
- Coordinate patient flow into eligibility for services, assist with screening of Medicaid and other insurances, and accurately implement and collect co-pays.
- Maintain stock of office supplies, keep program fliers and information posted in the waiting room, and comply with all policies and procedures, including confidentiality for patients and patient records.
- High school graduate or equivalent required; one year of medical experience from a similar setting preferred.
- Formal training from a vocational school in lieu of the above experience.
- Ability to work under pressure, treat patients with kindness and consideration, and handle multiple functions.
- Understanding of community-based organizations and ability to relate to patients through familiarity with medical terminology and triage procedures.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred.
- Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm.
