We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative III to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. Key Responsibilities- Schedule patient appointments and enter required information in the computer system with accuracy and timeliness.
- Obtain demographic, insurance, and financial information from patients or guarantors and enter it into the computer system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Explain required forms to patients or guarantors and obtain necessary signatures.
- Ensure medical necessity compliance by obtaining necessary data, reviewing the Compliance System, communicating information to patients or guarantors, and obtaining necessary signatures.
- Protect the financial integrity of the facility by collecting patient liability, establishing payment arrangements, discussing payment options, and screening for eligibility.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and ensure all notifications and authorizations are completed within the required timeframes.
- Post payments in the computer system and generate patient receipts.
- Monitor, review, and resolve patient account issues on assigned reports.
- Function as a team leader in the department by ensuring daily processes are complete, scheduling employees, providing answers to employee questions, and assisting in employee orientation and training.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with physicians, care management, ancillary departments, nursing units, physicians' office staff, insurance companies, patients, and their families.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Three years of experience in a hospital or medical business office setting.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Proficient typing/keyboarding skills.
- Supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred.
