Position Overview:

JOB TITLE: JUNIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

LOCATION: BAKERSFIELD, CA

SALARY: $66,560 PER ANNUM

OBJECTIVE:

Support the ongoing enhancement and evaluation of agricultural operations, including conducting field trials and performing systems analysis, modeling, and forecasting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate project goals and proposals through discussions with management and process modeling.
  • Establish project specifications by analyzing designs, stakeholder needs, and performance criteria; compiling technical documentation; and preparing cost assessments.
  • Identify project responsibilities by outlining project phases, components, and relevant departments; reviewing bids.
  • Develop project timelines by analyzing plans and specifications; estimating time requirements; and sequencing tasks.
  • Ensure project timelines are adhered to by tracking progress; coordinating activities; and addressing challenges.
  • Oversee project execution by evaluating designs, specifications, and plans; adjusting schedules; and recommending necessary actions.
  • Generate project status updates by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; suggesting actions.
  • Validate product performance through the design and execution of trials.
  • Maintain project databases by compiling performance metrics; entering and securing data.
  • Contribute to team success by assisting colleagues as required.
  • Exemplify the Division's Mission, Strategy, and Values.
  • Ensure 5S Organization principles are applied in all workspaces.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to frequently navigate agricultural fields. Capability to consistently work with products and equipment at ground level and on uneven surfaces. Ability to move about within an office environment. Proficiency in operating a computer and other office equipment. Must be able to traverse uneven terrain both on foot and while operating moving machinery. Must be capable of lifting items weighing up to 75 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Entry-level technical project experience, including analysis, problem identification, and solution implementation. 1 to 3 years of experience in an agricultural setting is preferred.
  • Core Competencies: Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, structural steel design, and DC electrical systems. Understanding of project management principles. Familiarity with statistical analysis and operational process documentation. Strong communication and analytical skills; proficient in solid model drafting, preferably with AutoCAD Inventor. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Support Skills: Effective communication and coordination abilities with all employee levels. Technical writing proficiency. Adherence to and facilitation of company policies. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed and work flexible hours.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug/alcohol screening, physical examination, and functional capacity evaluation.
