Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at The Widroe Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing projects, leading design processes, and ensuring quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Assign team members' time efficiently across projects to meet budgets, timelines, and deliverables as planned.
  • Leadership in Design Process: Act as the leader of the design process from documentation to implementation for public works and land development projects.
  • QA/QC Processes: Develop or perform quality assurance and quality control processes for project risk mitigation.
  • Engineering Design Studies: Conduct preliminary engineering design studies, assessing site constraints and potential regulatory issues.
  • Subdivision Maps: Prepare and process tentative and final subdivision maps.
  • Public Improvement Plans: Prepare and process public improvement plans for public agencies and development plans for commercial and residential projects.
  • Hydrologic Studies: Prepare and review accompanying hydrologic studies and drainage reports.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Listen and communicate effectively and professionally in a variety of settings, including interactions with sub-consultants, conferences, networking events, and governmental agencies.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach to decision-making; demonstrate sound judgment and support reasoning for decisions, ensuring appropriate stakeholder involvement in the process.
  • Foster a growth-oriented mentality within the team.

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Procure and manage sales through existing clients, repeat work, new contracts, or new business development activities.
  • Evaluate which projects to pursue (private/public) and review proposals made by the marketing coordinator to ensure adequacy of budgets, timelines, and scopes while addressing design risks.

Requirements:

  • B.A. in Civil Engineering (Masters optional)
  • California P.E. License
  • QSP/QSD Certification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of SWPPP
  • Project Management
  • Civil 3D
  • AutoCAD
  • HydroCAD (desired but not necessary)
  • HEC-RAS (desired but not necessary)
