Position Title: Building Automation Technician I
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing, inspection, and calibration of sensors, meters, gauges, and controllers to ensure precision.
- Interpret and analyze control system schematics and drawings.
- Identify mechanical components on technical drawings, including chillers, boilers, pumps, and air handling units.
- Demonstrate understanding of basic electrical control circuits, including 24VAC power and controller I/O.
- Apply knowledge of simple control networking principles.
- Exhibit familiarity with control hardware components.
- Implement system graphics in accordance with project specifications.
- Replace faulty wiring and tubing as necessary.
- Document calibrations performed, parts utilized, and maintain inventory records.
- Create schematic drawings and reports to reflect modifications in instruments, circuits, and systems.
- Monitor and diagnose potential issues using computer systems and on-site evaluations.
- Collaborate with installation and maintenance teams to facilitate the installation, repair, or modification of controlled systems and equipment.
- Manage equipment operation schedules and generate system performance reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficient in at least one HVAC control system (preferably Tridium, Distech, Delta, JCI, or Andover).
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems.
- Engineering competencies should include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience in control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance is preferred.
- Proficient computer skills with an understanding of control networking.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and comply with MVR standards for operating a company vehicle.
