Reports to: Lead Scorekeeper

Location: Sharks Ice San Jose

Employment Status: Part-time, Non-exempt

Compensation: $20.00 per hour


Position Overview:

The Scorekeeper is tasked with accurately recording and maintaining statistics for both adult and youth hockey competitions.


Work Schedule:

  • Availability for approximately two-thirds of scheduled events each month, including weekends and holidays, is required. Most shifts occur during evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise statistics as mandated by league and tournament requirements and perform necessary data entry tasks.
  • Utilize league-provided scoring systems and documentation.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all league regulations and ensure adherence by officials and players.
  • Engage with on-ice officials regarding game situations and player eligibility issues.
  • Promptly report all significant incidents occurring on and off the ice to the adult hockey manager.
  • Enforce player roster compliance and check-in procedures.
  • Manage player suspension lists and communicate relevant suspensions to officials.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently and ensure the implementation of all policies.
  • Be familiar with emergency protocols for equipment and evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the scorekeeper and player boxes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must wear the assigned uniform during all shifts.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and late nights.
  • Basic understanding of ice hockey rules and knowledge is essential.
  • Competence in using the required computer systems for game administration.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to work in a cold environment.
