We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Ice Team Member to join our team at the San Jose Arena. As a key member of our ice maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the ice surface is safe and ready for play during Sharks home games.
Key Responsibilities- Ice Surface Maintenance: Perform regular ice surface maintenance during game intermissions and timeouts, including shoveling, ice repairs, and ensuring a smooth and safe playing surface.
- Fan Engagement: Engage with fans during breaks and pre-game activities, representing the San Jose Sharks in a positive and professional manner.
- Crowd Energization: Assist in promoting and energizing the crowd during intermissions and breaks.
- Video Feature Shoots: Assist with in-game video feature shoots as needed.
- Special Events: Assist with special events and marketing promotions as needed.
- Ice Team Promotions: Participate in Ice Team photo opportunities and promotions.
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Availability: Available to work 75% of Shark home games, including preseason and playoff games.
- Physical Abilities: Strong ice-skating abilities are required; previous experience in figure skating, hockey, or similar disciplines is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with Hockey: Familiarity with hockey and an understanding of the game.
- Adaptability: Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive Compensation: Competitive hourly rate.
