Position Overview:

The Community Engagement Coordinator for Sharks and Barracuda, under the guidance of the Manager, Marketing Programs and Mascot Operations, is a part-time role responsible for executing hockey-related events and initiatives for the San Jose Sharks and San Jose Barracuda. This position also involves providing support for various marketing activities and assisting during game nights.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and facilitate hockey clinics at local educational institutions, after-school programs, and community centers.
  • Represent the organization at community outreach events, including festivals and team gatherings.
  • Conduct marketing and educational programming aimed at fan development within local schools and community settings.
  • Assist with various in-office tasks and game day preparations as directed by the organization.
  • Support Barracuda home games by managing fan engagement activities and staffing concourse tables.
Work Schedule:
  • Availability to work 20+ hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends, and events as required.
  • Commitment to work during Barracuda Pre and regular season game dates and all playoff games.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Reside in the Bay Area; relocation or travel expenses are not covered.
  • Ability to work 20+ hours per week, including flexible hours as needed.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a standard background check.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport within the organization and community.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude with a passion for working with children.
  • Experience in coaching or instructing youth is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle financial transactions responsibly.
  • Must be a proactive team player with a friendly demeanor.
  • Quick thinking and adaptability in various situations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 15 pounds.
  • Capability to navigate stairs and work in various environments during events.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods both indoors and outdoors.
