Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and categorize invoices for payment processing and issue checks.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheets and bank accounts.
  • Prepare and file sales tax reports and payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and end-of-month profit and loss statements.
  • Review payroll for accuracy and ensure proper posting.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to generate monthly and annual financial statements for various properties.
  • Produce precise financial management reports and ensure adherence to all financial reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain all financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Essential Skills

  • Accurately compute and record numerical data.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably M3 Accounting, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Adhere to procedures for maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform detailed and routine tasks effectively.
  • Read and replicate extensive numerical data without errors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the hospitality sector is preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of hotel accounting practices, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cash management.
  • Experience in reconciling cash, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Familiarity with general ledger functions, financial statements, and the month-end/year-end closing processes.
  • Prior experience with accounting software, ideally M3 Accounting Software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • This position typically requires an average of 50-55 hours of work per week.
