Salary:
$65,000 - $90,000 per year About Us: We are a well-established local CPA firm with nearly 50 years of experience, employing around 50 professionals in the Greater Tampa, FL area. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant with a focus on Client Financial Management to become a vital part of our dynamic finance team. This hybrid role provides the flexibility to work from home with occasional office visits.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial well-being of our clients, ensuring precision and adherence to current accounting standards. This role presents an excellent opportunity for career advancement in a supportive, collaborative, and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily bookkeeping tasks including transaction recording, financial record maintenance, and management of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Sage and Quickbooks for financial data management.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting principles in all activities.
  • Prepare and process payroll with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Calculate, prepare, and submit sales tax returns promptly and accurately.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Generate financial reports for clients, offering insights and recommendations based on thorough financial analysis.
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Communicate with clients to resolve any financial inquiries or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on budget preparation and financial planning.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a client-facing capacity.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Sage and Quickbooks.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
  • Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and sales tax.
  • Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and initiative in addressing issues.
  • Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.
