Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Nurse to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Nurse, you will be responsible for addressing the mental, behavioral, and physical health needs of clients on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis. This will involve conducting in-person nursing assessments, reviewing medication and charts, and educating caregivers and clients on prescribed medications and potential side effects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with treatment team members, including physicians, pharmacies, and employment programs, to coordinate community services and ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Educate clients and caregivers on psychiatric and physical health medications, including potential side effects and interactions.
  • Assist clients in building coping skills to address mood, stressors, and improve communication, and help them create annual goals related to their psychiatric diagnosis.
  • Provide training and mentorship to peers, and may be required to cover multiple facilities depending on company needs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • LPN or RN license.
  • Experience in psychiatric, mental, and behavioral health services.
  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned service area.
  • Preferably has experience working in LTC facilities and behavioral health settings.
  • CPR certification or ability to obtain during training.
