Position Title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Pathology

RESEARCH AND SCIENTIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and skilled researcher specializing in immunology, with a strong background in flow cytometry and in vitro co-culture techniques. Experience in single-cell RNA sequencing, cell isolation, cytokine profiling, and mouse model experimentation is highly advantageous. Familiarity with microbiology or the microbiome's role in human diseases will be considered a plus.

Current research initiatives focus on employing systems immunology methodologies to investigate innate immunity and the microbiome's impact on infections and diseases, particularly in the context of women's health. Ongoing projects encompass areas such as infertility, cervical cancer, and transgender health.

The successful candidate will engage in systems immunology practices, which include flow cytometry, cell culture, bacterial culture, single-cell RNA sequencing, cytokine analysis, cell isolation, and comprehensive data analysis.

As a research associate, responsibilities will include presenting findings at departmental seminars and scientific conferences, preparing manuscripts for publication, and contributing preliminary data for grant applications. Additional managerial experience will be viewed favorably.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in high-parameter flow cytometry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cell isolation and culture techniques is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in single-cell RNA sequencing is advantageous.
  • Background in microbiology or microbiome studies is preferred but not mandatory.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise laboratory technicians, visiting scholars, and student trainees in experimental design and data analysis across various projects.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • A Ph.D. in Immunology or a related field is required.
  • A background in systems immunology is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills are essential.
