Position Overview

Lux Research, a leader in sustainable innovation, is seeking a Sales Executive to enhance our Consumer Products sales division in North America. This position focuses on promoting our research solutions, data analytics, and consulting services to prospective clients within the Global 2,000 enterprises. The Sales Executive will engage with senior executives in the consumer products sector across North America, operating as an individual contributor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Formulate and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aimed at securing new business within the designated territory.
  • Opportunity Management: Actively seek, qualify, and finalize new sales opportunities, ensuring a strong and precise sales pipeline to meet quarterly objectives.
  • Engagement with Senior Executives: Target senior management levels (Director, VP, C-Level) in functions such as R&D, Innovation, Business Development, Corporate Venturing, and Strategy/M&A.
  • CRM Oversight: Maintain accurate opportunity data within Lux's CRM platform (Salesforce).
  • Product Expertise: Acquire in-depth knowledge of Lux Research's comprehensive range of research subscriptions and consulting services.
  • Value Proposition: Identify client challenges in business and technology, showcasing Lux Research's value and positioning the firm as a vital resource.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborate closely with a global team that includes Business Development Representatives, Customer Success Managers, Research Analysts, and Consultants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of proven sales experience with a successful track record in acquiring new clients.
  • Experience selling to Global 2,000 Consumer Packaged Goods companies, with a demonstrated ability to secure new accounts.
  • Expertise in cultivating business champions and managing complex sales processes.
  • Proven success as a proactive "hunter" in solutions selling, new business acquisition, and achieving sales targets.
  • Experience in intangible sales (B2B) such as research, advisory services, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a sales pipeline with multiple opportunities at various stages.
  • Experience identifying new business opportunities with an average annual contract value of $100K.

Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent educational background.
  • Consultative selling approach is essential; formal training in methodologies such as Miller-Heiman Complex Sales or Challenger Selling is preferred.
  • Ability to uncover unexpected value and qualify opportunities effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of sales pipeline management.
  • Results-driven with individual performance linked to compensation incentives.
  • Competitive mindset with a strong desire for success.

  • Ability to articulate trends, challenges, and issues to C-level executives.
