Job Title: Operations Manager for Aquatic Programs

Reports to: General Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: You will oversee the excellence and efficiency of daily operations at Goldfish Swim School, which includes managing staffing, pool activities, financial transactions, customer relations, retail, and event operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage daily operations to align with Goldfish Swim School's standard procedures.
  • Assist the General Manager and department heads in completing daily responsibilities.
  • Lead the GSS team to ensure high productivity, outstanding performance, and positive employee morale.
  • Train and supervise the aquatics team to deliver exceptional swim instruction.
  • Collaborate with Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers on class schedules, student progress, customer service, and staff training.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to qualified staff members.
  • Guide the retail and vending departments to achieve optimal product selection and pricing.
  • Oversee private party staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Develop proficiency in the Links software for bookings, scheduling, reporting, and administrative tasks.
  • Acquire knowledge in pool operations to maintain a safe and clean swimming environment.
  • Initiate and manage employee engagement activities to enhance workplace satisfaction.
  • Implement and oversee the Emergency Action Plan and safety protocols, training all staff accordingly.
  • Maintain current certifications and stay updated in the fields of aquatics and management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the employer.

Education/Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor's degree or higher is preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor, camp counselor, or childcare provider is necessary. A minimum of two years in a management role is preferred, along with two years of experience as a swimming instructor.

Certificates and Licenses: Required certifications include Ellis Lifeguard, Ellis Lifeguard Instructor, Ellis CPR/AED, and Ellis First Aid. (These may be obtained within the first 90 days of employment if the applicant holds equivalent certifications from another recognized training provider.)

Work Environment: This position regularly involves exposure to heat and humidity, with a moderate noise level.

About Goldfish Swim School: We are dedicated to providing a learn-to-swim experience for children aged 4 months to 12 years, utilizing a proven curriculum that fosters confidence and safety in and around water.
