Job Summary

Bay Area Turning Point is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shelter Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our emergency shelter. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients and staff, as well as the effective delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shelter Operations: Ensure 24-hour shelter coverage, maintain a safe and secure environment, and oversee the implementation of shelter services.
  • Client Services: Coordinate and deliver services to clients, including childcare, food services, and case management.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and support staff, including shelter staff, childcare staff, and food services staff.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement programs to meet the needs of our clients, including special projects and activities.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Ensure timely submission of reports and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field, including experience in shelter operations, client services, and staff management.
  • Certifications: Food Managers Certification within 45 days of hire.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs.
Working Conditions

The Shelter Operations Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
