Retail Operations Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Operations Supervisor serves as a vital partner to the General Manager in executing the Retail Store Operational Plan. This role is crucial in achieving performance targets and enhancing sales opportunities by effectively aligning the "ideal sales associate" with the "appropriate customer".

In this position, you will address or delegate customer inquiries in accordance with company policies and procedures. A key responsibility is to maintain a vigilant awareness of security issues related to store operations.

The Retail Operations Supervisor collaborates closely with the General Manager on all facets of store management. This includes working alongside other department heads to fulfill organizational goals. You will also play a significant role in the recruitment and selection of store associates. A primary duty is to train and mentor associates, fostering their long-term professional growth. Additionally, you will provide valuable input for performance evaluations and succession planning for sales associates. The Retail Operations Supervisor exemplifies both sales and leadership skills, consistently acting in the best interests of Robbins Brothers.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance

  • Complete all mandatory onboarding and training modules within the designated timeframe.
  • Participate in all required sales training and educational programs offered by the company.
  • Exhibit motivation and a strong drive for achieving results.
  • Effectively manage sales requests, negotiate counter offers, and engage team members for support while adhering to company policies.
  • Explore product options to meet customer requests and utilize resources to facilitate optimal sales.
  • Demonstrate the ability to close sales and ensure all documentation complies with company standards.
  • Meet individual monthly sales targets as required.
  • Maximize gross margin during negotiations and sales closures.
  • Enhance store revenue by leveraging design and service center offerings.
  • Increase average sales per customer interaction.
  • Build a professional network by maintaining relationships with customers, colleagues, and designers to boost sales.
  • Balance personal sales objectives with store management duties.
  • Ensure the delivery of an exceptional customer experience.

Team Development and Management

  • Guide team members in all business aspects as needed, in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and establish clear expectations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in attracting and assessing sales talent.
  • Support effective hiring and retention of sales associates.
  • Hold team members accountable for sales goals and personal development.
  • Facilitate skill enhancement for sales associates through constructive feedback and actionable improvement suggestions.
  • Master the Salesforce system and coach associates on its effective use.

Merchandise Oversight

  • Complete required product training within the specified timeframe.
  • Show initiative in acquiring in-depth product knowledge and stay informed about new merchandise.
  • Demonstrate the ability to sell across all product categories and coach associates to do the same.
  • Implement best practices for merchandise displays in accordance with company visual guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to guide associates in effective merchandise presentation.
  • Uphold quality control and security standards when handling products.
  • Assist associates in maximizing gross margin through effective product exploration.
  • Ensure adherence to product handling procedures and documentation policies.

Store Operations

  • Follow operational guidelines to ensure an optimal customer experience.
  • Address store maintenance issues promptly.
