Job Summary:Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in shelter management, with experience in overseeing the effectiveness of client services, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The successful candidate will develop and implement shelter services that promote safety, healing, and empowerment for adults, children, and families.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the effectiveness of client services, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
- Develop and implement shelter services that promote safety, healing, and empowerment for adults, children, and families.
- Ensure shelter processes and procedures are client-focused, therapeutic, and culturally competent.
- Collaborate with staff to maintain a cohesive environment and process client grievances.
- Coordinate projects with other departments and staff, including client orientation and agency tours.
- Monitor project outcomes and implement enhancements to the shelter program.
- Ensure the food services program operates within budget and maintains quality standards.
- Oversee the quality of Children's Services, including childcare lesson planning and activities.
- 4-year degree with a minimum of 2 years related administrative experience, or a minimum of 6 years strong experience in a related environment with demonstrated effectiveness.
- Must have or obtain Food Managers Certification within 45 days of hire.
- Organize and prioritize multiple and changing workload.
- Communicate openly and clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Evidence successful experience in liaison work with the community from a social service non-profit setting.
- Evidence successful experience in operating childcare and 24-hour residential facilities.
- Sensitivity to clients and volunteers and understanding of the agency's position within the community and with related social service providers.
- Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.
- Must have a clean driving record and be insurable; must have a valid driver's license and maintain automobile insurance.
