Senior Embedded Systems Security Engineer
The Opportunity:
As a seasoned electrical engineer, your expertise in complex systems is essential for assessing hardware security measures in embedded electronics.

We are seeking an electrical engineer who can leverage their knowledge to assist law enforcement by developing innovative forensic tools and investigative techniques.

At Booz Allen Hamilton, your engineering prowess will play a crucial role in transforming law enforcement capabilities. Our team specializes in digital forensics, enabling investigators to retrieve user data from electronic devices.

Your understanding of embedded system design, mobile platforms, and hardware security principles will be vital in creating and refining methods for testing memory and security subsystems, as well as debugging interfaces on electronic devices.

As part of our mission-driven engineering group, you will tackle challenging projects aimed at recovering potentially deleted data.

Your contributions will directly influence criminal and counter-intelligence investigations through the application of failure analysis, glitching, and side-channel analysis techniques to reverse engineer embedded systems.

We expect you to share your electrical engineering insights by mentoring junior engineers.

This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your extensive experience in embedded systems development and testing while expanding your expertise in advanced side-channel analysis, hardware-backed security components, and reverse engineering.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in software development using C, C++, or Python
3+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including firmware, bare-metal programming, FPGA development, and JTAG
1+ years of experience in side-channel analysis techniques, such as fault-injection, glitching, power analysis, and electromagnetic interference
1+ years of experience with reverse engineering tools like IDA Pro or Ghidra
Knowledge of Arm Architecture
Top Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Operating System code
Familiarity with cryptography
Understanding of Flash memory and RAM concepts
Knowledge of secure boot processes
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

Clearance:


Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational needs.

The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 annually.

This estimate reflects the typical salary range for this role and is one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package.
