Job Title: Virtualization Systems Engineer

Job Type: Long-Term Contract

Location: Onsite

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Security Clearance: Active TS required

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior System Administrator - Virtualization will:

  • Plan and execute site surveys to gather essential information for comprehensive product and service delineation.
  • Lead and conduct regular and specialized system testing programs on virtualization technologies.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports and presentations containing actionable insights relevant to site operations.
  • Conduct integrated equipment system tests and provide on-the-job training to government and junior personnel as necessary.
  • Collaborate with field engineers to enhance customer outcomes.
  • Support additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must possess an Active TS Security clearance and be prepared for a Counter Intelligence Polygraph post-onboarding. Applications without this clearance will not be considered.

Minimum Education and Experience:

A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent qualifications.

Expertise Level: This is a senior-level position requiring at least ten (10) years of experience in the design, management, administration, documentation, troubleshooting, and support of diverse computer networks in both production and development settings.

Technical Skills: The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in:

  • Installation, configuration, and validation of network components, including:
  • Citrix - Version 22+
  • Citrix XenServer and XenApp
  • Citrix NetScaler
  • Windows Server 2019/2022
  • Microsoft Failover Cluster
  • Microsoft Hyper-V Manager
  • Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
  • Virtualization subsystems and container systems
  • Infrastructure as Code methodologies
  • Administration of various virtualization environments (Windows, Citrix, Linux)
  • Strong customer service aptitude
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • Independent operation without direct supervision
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly PowerShell, for automation tasks
  • Participation in Change Control processes and documentation of procedures

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with PowerShell and Splunk dashboard management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud services
  • Background in digital forensics technology or related fields for law enforcement or intelligence communities
  • Experience in Agile team environments
  • Willingness to adopt Lean principles, Agile engineering, and DevSecOps methodologies
  • Ability to engage in strategy sessions for project documentation and requirements gathering
