We are seeking a skilled professional to spearhead the creation and development of warehouse systems from the ground up. This role involves managing projects aimed at enhancing warehousing operations through innovative design and optimization techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish the internal flow architecture based on industry best practices.
- Design local warehousing solutions that align with global architecture standards, including standardized work instructions, layout designs, and material storage strategies.
- Apply Lean principles to minimize waste and enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct warehouse design sizing to achieve safety, capacity, quality, and efficiency benchmarks.
- Ensure safety and ergonomic standards are met in all warehouse and material handling activities.
- Integrate the SAP system for effective warehouse management configuration.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in digital transformation and automation within warehouse operations, focusing on safety, quality, time, and cost optimization.
- Plan routes for the efficient evacuation of finished products and waste materials.
- Perform audits of established processes to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Compile and present reports detailing findings and recommendations for operational improvements.
- Oversee projects that enhance warehousing operations and contribute to the architecture of warehouse management systems.
- Maximize storage efficiency within the warehouse environment.
- Develop strategies for efficient material picking and placement within storage systems.
- Utilize tools for warehouse architecture design effectively.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; however, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with SAP is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Proven expertise in flow architecture for warehouse layout design.
- Familiarity with Lean methodologies in warehouse settings, particularly regarding digital transformation.
- Experience in warehouse design sizing and route planning for product and waste evacuation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, dynamic team environment.
- Must demonstrate safety awareness while working around chemicals and hazardous materials.
Additional Information:
- We are looking for candidates with strong Industrial Engineering skills.
- This position is not suited for civil or architectural professionals; it is focused on engineering within the supply chain context.
- Responsibilities include configuring material storage and managing product reception processes.
- Experience with the SAP WMS module is highly desirable.
- Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Daily tasks may include generating reports from WMS to identify discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products is essential.
