Current Educational Landscape:

Despite a statewide graduation rate of nearly 82%, less than 20% of high school students in Nevada are performing at grade level in mathematics, and fewer than half meet grade-level standards in English Language Arts. Opportunity 180 is committed to collaborating with the community to address these ongoing educational challenges through evidence-based practices and policy initiatives.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Finance Operations Manager who will ensure that our financial operations align with Board-approved policies and adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial practices and supporting our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement: Develop and maintain the organization’s business and accounting systems.
  • Support: Provide the team with accurate financial data to guide strategic decisions.
  • Assist: Collaborate with the Operations Director to ensure compliance across various grant and business activities.

  • 25% Business Operations
  • 65% Financial Management
  • 10% Administrative Duties
  • 5% Team Culture Contributions

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Monitor business and team expenses.
  • Track grant expenditures and prepare reports.
  • Provide monthly financial updates to the team and leadership.
  • Draft contracts and manage service agreements.
  • Coordinate financial data for external accountants for annual tax filings.
  • Support the completion of annual audits.
  • Create financial reports for quarterly board meetings.
  • Lead the annual budget preparation process.
  • Manage federal fiscal monitoring and reporting.
  • Process federal subgrantee reimbursements.
  • Review grantee financial documents for compliance.
  • Assist in the creation of the federal Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA).
  • Reconcile shared costs for collaborative initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.
  • Experience managing accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
  • Experience with federal grant accounting.
  • CPA certification is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $65,000 - $79,000.
