Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Success Coach to enhance our Student Support Services (SSS) - STEM initiative. This role involves managing a comprehensive caseload of students, providing essential counseling and academic guidance to those enrolled in the SSS-STEM program. The STEM Success Coach will also oversee and coordinate tutorial support services for participants in the program. This position will report directly to the Program Director and contribute to the overall growth, management, and evaluation of the SSS-STEM Program.

This is a full-time, grant-supported administrative role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized and group counseling to assigned students, focusing on academic advisement, career planning, financial literacy, leadership development, and transfer counseling.
  • Support the creation, management, and assessment of retention initiatives and orientation for new students.
  • Oversee and coordinate tutorial support services for program participants, including the recruitment, training, and management of professional tutors, peer mentors, and summer program instructors.
  • Track student progress and suggest suitable interventions and services.
  • Evaluate the academic, motivational, and personal needs of SSS-STEM participants and design programs and strategies to meet those needs.
  • Maintain detailed records of student caseloads, attendance, and progress.
  • Instruct an assigned section of the College Success course each semester.
  • Collaborate closely with College faculty through the College Success course, the Accelerated Learning Pathways (ALP) Program, and the structured first-year learning experience.
  • Organize workshops and facilitate campus visits to transfer institutions.
  • Assist in all facets of program development, student identification and referral, program evaluation, and outreach.
  • Engage in professional development and/or in-service training as provided by the College and the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Program Director, including flexibility for evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Student Personnel, or a related field is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in an educational environment working with at-risk, non-traditional students is required.
