Academic Support Program Leader

We are looking for an Academic Support Program Leader who will collaborate closely with the Program Coordinator and Supplemental Instructor Assistant to enhance student learning through various academic initiatives. This role involves overseeing the activities of Supplemental Instructors, ensuring that all program objectives are met effectively. The position will report to the Title V Teacher Excellence Project Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Supplemental Instruction program.
- Support the execution of the Specialized Peer Tutoring program.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Supplemental Instructor Assistant, Program Coordinator, and other educational staff to evaluate student progress and program effectiveness.
- Assist in the development of supplemental instructional resources, including handouts, promotional materials, worksheets, and study guides.
- Facilitate training sessions for students involved in Supplemental Instruction and Specialized Peer Tutoring.
- Work alongside faculty to assign Supplemental Instructors to courses each semester.
- Ensure the timely completion of weekly required materials by Supplemental Instructors.
- Conduct review sessions and Supplemental Instruction for students enrolled in designated courses.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current student at Passaic County Community College.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and the Program Coordinator, fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Exhibit patience, empathy, and the capability to adapt collaborative approaches to accommodate diverse student learning needs.
- Reliable and punctual in fulfilling assigned duties.
