Position Overview:

Responsible for overseeing compliance tasks associated with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and Clean Water Act (CWA) for Veolia's municipal water operations.

Ensures that water quality standards are consistently met and exceeded as mandated by state and federal regulatory agencies.

Maintains compliance with environmental, governmental, and drinking water regulations in accordance with operating permits.

Tasks include the collection, analysis, and reporting of compliance samples for both existing and emerging regulations.

Accountable for the development, implementation, and adherence to the Water Quality Program.

This role includes direct supervision of Water Quality Specialists and Samplers to ensure ongoing compliance, including annual reviews and objective oversight of all direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct supervision of Water Quality Samplers to ensure adherence to all applicable state and federal regulations regarding the SDWA and CWA.

Engage regularly with local regulatory officials, government representatives, commercial laboratories, and customers to foster positive working relationships.

Act as a regulatory and community liaison for issues related to water quality and source water protection.

Collaborate with the EH&S Manager and Operations to ensure compliance and major program initiatives.

Participate in an Emergency Supervisory Rotation, being available for water quality-related emergencies and providing assistance during plant emergencies.

Ensure all monitoring requirements based on state and federal regulations are fulfilled.

Lead the preparation and maintenance of required records and reports for regulatory agencies.

Oversee the sample collection schedule and analysis to guarantee compliance with state and federal timelines.

Participate in compliance programs and audits, serving as a subject matter expert.

Address water quality complaints or issues, taking appropriate corrective actions and notifying management as necessary.

Monitor and track all water quality and allocation permits related to current and future facilities.

Guide the Water Quality team in identifying root causes of water quality issues and support initiatives to enhance water quality in collaboration with Operations and Engineering departments.

Provide essential water quality information for annual capital and operating budgets.

Review laboratory procedures and recommend improvements in methods, analytical instrumentation, and electronic data management as needed.

Continuously develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ensure the training and development of Water Quality employees to perform their duties effectively.

Provide technical training on water quality issues and regulations to relevant personnel.

Promote a culture of safety and compliance by leading by example.

Oversee the implementation of the Company's Safety Program within the Water Quality Staff, conducting periodic safety training and ensuring proper use of safety gear and protection devices.

Travel as necessary to fulfill responsibilities.

Complete special assignments as requested.
