Position Overview

This pivotal executive role reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and the President of ProMedica Physician's Group (PPG). The position encompasses comprehensive oversight of pharmacy operations, including retail and specialty services, clinical frameworks, and procurement processes, along with indirect responsibility for pharmacy technology initiatives.


Role Summary
The Senior Vice President, Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO) will spearhead the strategic planning, development, execution, and administrative leadership of pharmacy programs and services throughout ProMedica. This role will also oversee fiscal management, drug utilization strategies, and supply chain logistics.

Collaboration with executive and senior leadership will be essential to identify and capitalize on new pharmacy opportunities that align with ProMedica's strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and synchronize all facets of pharmacy services across the organization to achieve operational excellence, clinical effectiveness, and financial success.
  • Ensure seamless integration and standardization of pharmacy practices.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all pharmacy operations and patient care services, including supply chain management, consolidated services, business development, and educational initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain a strategic plan for the pharmacy enterprise, developing tactical initiatives to realize that plan while measuring performance against strategic goals.
  • Communicate pharmacy strategies, results, and outcomes to other leaders and the pharmacy team.
  • Manage financial oversight and accountability, identifying initiatives to enhance revenue and reduce costs.
  • Develop and manage pharmacy operating and capital budgets in collaboration with the Finance department.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to inform decision-making.
  • Build and maintain a strong pharmacy workforce to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
  • Deliver high-value service standards across the pharmacy service line.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy; Master's degree in a health-related field or business administration.

Experience:
10 years of progressively responsible senior leadership experience in health-system pharmacy. Proven track record in strategy development and achieving measurable results. Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate team performance. Eligibility to practice as a pharmacist in Michigan or Ohio.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Experience:
Residency training in health system pharmacy administration. Eligibility to practice as a pharmacist in both Michigan and Ohio.

Physical Demands:
Moderate walking, climbing, lifting, and bending. Many tasks may be performed virtually.
