Job Overview

General Summary:

The role involves supporting the pharmacist in the daily operations of prescription fulfillment and managing inventory while providing assistance to patients at the service counter.

This position operates under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential duties include:

  1. Assisting in the preparation of prescriptions: packaging and labeling medications under the direct oversight of the pharmacist.
  2. Managing inventory by retrieving and counting medications.
  3. Receiving and processing telephone orders accurately.
  4. Operating the cash register.
  5. Providing customer assistance as needed.

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

  1. Ordering supplies from vendors to ensure sufficient pharmaceutical stock levels.
  2. Restocking merchandise and various food items.
  3. Performing other assigned tasks as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Essential:

Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.

Ability to perform accurate counting.

Consistent punctuality and professional appearance are expected, along with the completion of all assigned tasks within the designated time frame.

Proactive in seeking additional tasks upon completion of primary responsibilities and willing to assist colleagues as needed.

Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to expanded roles.

Complies with all clinic policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.

Prior experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
