About the Role

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead its Health Services operations. As the top administrative officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of clinical, administrative, and dental programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to achieve the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska's Tribal Health philosophy, mission, and annual goals.
  • Oversee the management of expansion projects and formulate long and short-range plans to address existing Indian health care needs.
  • Directly supervise multiple team leaders to ensure effective delivery, improvement, and coordination of services.
  • Establish and maintain beneficial relationships with outside organizations, committees, boards, and education institutions to promote the PTN and its efforts to improve the health of Native American people.
  • Work closely with the Tribal Council to ensure clinic programs and tribal health programs are integrated.
  • Oversee the management of all specific projects assigned by Tribal Council.
  • Direct the formulation of yearly budgets and administer funds to ensure compliance with contracts, including the Indian Health Service and other funding sources.
  • Provide regular reports to the Tribal Council, including statistical data and analysis, progress on strategic goals, health trends, and budgetary compliance.
  • Enforce client confidentiality and the privacy act, as well as HIPPA laws.
  • Coordinate efforts for strategic planning and updating for all clinic services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in health, business, public administration, or an equivalent degree.
  • Two years minimum in related administrative healthcare experience working in the Indian Health Service.
  • Three years of project management experience.
  • Five years of experience in managing a clinic with a budget over $10,000,000.
  • Experience developing multi-functional clinical environments.
  • Three years of supervisory experience, including multi-level staffing.
  • One year of grant and budget management.
  • One year of procurement administration.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and Access database programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • Successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks.
  • Able and willing to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in health, business, public administration, or an equivalent degree.
  • Three years minimum in related administrative healthcare experience working in the Indian Health Service.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Public Law Indian Self-Determination Act and Indian Health Services programs.
