The Chief Executive Officer will allocate 75% of their time to program-related initiatives, with the remaining 25% dedicated to administrative, awareness, and fundraising efforts.
Your dedication to social change and commitment to health equity will be crucial in broadening our outreach and effectiveness. This is a grant-funded, part-time role requiring 22-24 hours per week.Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Vision:
In partnership with the Board of Directors, implement the organization's strategic framework in line with its mission and vision.
Provide direction to enhance the organization's growth and outreach, ensuring responsiveness to community demands.
Encourage a positive and inclusive organizational environment.
Operational Oversight:
Manage daily operations, ensuring the efficient collection, sorting, storage, and distribution of hygiene products.
Refine operational processes to improve efficiency and amplify impact.
Maintain precise inventory records and optimize inventory management systems.
Work collaboratively with volunteers to ensure a welcoming and organized environment.
Community Relations:
Establish and maintain partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and government entities to secure donations and support.
Represent the organization in public forums, media, and community events to raise awareness and garner support.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address emerging hygiene needs within the community.
Fundraising and Resource Acquisition:
With the support of the Board of Directors, devise and execute fundraising strategies to secure financial resources for ongoing operations and growth.
Build relationships with individual donors, businesses, and grant-making organizations.
Conduct research and engage in grant writing and fundraising activities to ensure the financial sustainability of the organization and this position.
Ensure accurate, transparent, and responsible financial management.
Volunteer Coordination:
Guide and support the Volunteer Coordinator (a volunteer role), overseeing the recruitment, training, and management of a diverse volunteer team.
Advocacy and Public Awareness:
Promote policies that address hygiene poverty and advocate for equitable access to hygiene products.
Develop and implement public awareness initiatives to educate the community on hygiene-related issues.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit or community-focused organization.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Confidence and proficiency in public speaking, comfortable delivering presentations and addressing audiences.
Ability to cultivate and maintain effective partnerships.
Passion for social impact and a commitment to health equity.
Capacity to work independently and efficiently.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Prior experience in inventory management, logistics, or related fields is advantageous.
Understanding of the challenges faced by low-income individuals through lived experience or awareness.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift products weighing up to 50 lbs.
