We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Transportation Specialist to join our team at the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. As a key member of our Transit Department, you will be responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of vehicles, including buses and vans, to transport passengers within our Service Delivery Area.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities, ensuring their safe and comfortable transportation.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle, adhering to strict safety and maintenance standards.
  • Monitor and manage passenger movements using our transportation software.
  • Collect fares and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and Tribal policies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Pass required background checks and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a transportation or logistics role, preferably in a Native American community.
  • Knowledge of Tribal laws and regulations, as well as federal and state transportation guidelines.
