About the Team

The Accounting Team at Stripe is responsible for understanding and telling the company's financial story, shaping the collective understanding of how Stripe is performing as a business, and maintaining a well-controlled environment that effectively supports corporate governance, financial reporting, and disclosure requirements.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Financial Reporting and ESG Specialist to join our Financial Reporting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for standing up a reporting structure around global ESG compliance, including CSRD, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish processes and ensure compliance with financial reporting and ESG requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and implement global accounting policies, including disclosures and estimation methods, to ensure compliance with financial reporting and ESG requirements.
  • Design effective systems, data collection methods, and internal controls to ensure consistent data integrity across various reporting deliverables.
  • Collaborate with International Accounting, Regulatory, Legal, Investor Relations, Climate, and other cross-functional teams at Stripe to establish processes and ensure compliance with ESG regulations.
  • Engage and manage accounting firms for assurance services, as needed.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in financial reporting and ESG compliance.
  • Expertise in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements (CPA preferred).
  • Understanding of internal control structures and ESG regulations.
  • Proven track record of thought leadership in evolving areas.
  • Detail-orientation with a rigorous approach to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across diverse groups and levels.
