OVERVIEW
The Financial Reporting Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Senior Financial Analyst and the Financial Reporting Manager in various facets of the organization's Accounting, Finance, Treasury, and Risk Management operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Compile, prepare, and distribute monthly financial reports, which include income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
2. Execute financial statement processing tasks such as journal entries, adjustments, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities for a multi-ledger organization.
3. Analyze monthly operational outcomes and assist in the preparation of budget-to-actual reports and variance analyses.
4. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all bank reconciliations.
5. Collaborate with the CFO and Financial Reporting Manager to prepare presentations for quarterly Board meetings, including necessary supporting documentation.
6. Aid the Senior Financial Analyst in developing the annual corporate budget and quarterly forecasts.
7. Monitor fixed assets and prepare related depreciation and amortization entries.
8. Prepare audit documentation for the consolidated company audit.
9. Support the Financial Reporting Controller in enhancing processes related to accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
10. Review and manage state and local business and occupation taxes.
11. Generate ad hoc reports as required.
12. Assist in structuring entities within the accounting software, including joint venture partnerships.
13. Review and authorize invoices for accuracy in vendor details, payment addresses, amounts, and general ledger coding.
14. Prepare the annual personal property tax listing for the relevant jurisdiction.
15. Maintain quarterly entity filings and assist in upholding the organizational structure of the company.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Proficient business writing skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in commercial real estate is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with general ledger operations and the ability to prepare basic financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Yardi is a plus.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Demonstrates professionalism in all aspects of work, including a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
