The Accounting Team

The Accounting Team at Stripe is responsible for maintaining a well-controlled environment that effectively supports corporate governance, financial reporting, and disclosure requirements. Our primary focus is to advise and enable Stripe to grow, while operating in a fast-paced environment and collaborating significantly with cross-functional and international teams.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting and Corporate Accounting Specialist to support all aspects of our financial reporting, leveraging technical expertise with US GAAP to quickly identify accounting and reporting implications and impacts to our cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Accurate and Timely Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for our consolidated and US regulated entities.
  • Support External Audit Processes: Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
  • Produce Internal Management Analyses: Develop and maintain internal management analyses and reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Build Scalable Accounting Processes: Design and implement scalable accounting processes to support global growth and expansion.
  • Identify Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with teams such as Internal Systems, Finance and Strategy, Treasury, Investor Relations, Tax, and Legal to determine and operationalize the accounting and reporting implications of new business initiatives and transactions.
  • Design and Implement Internal Controls: Design, implement, and execute efficient internal control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
Requirements
  • 7+ Years of Relevant Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in public accounting and/or industry, with expertise in US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Accounting or Finance Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a strong preference for a CPA certification.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel Skills: Strong knowledge of Excel, with the ability to analyze and present complex financial data.
  • Experience with Internal Controls: Experience with designing, implementing, and executing internal control procedures.
  • Solution-Oriented Mindset: A solution-oriented mindset, with a strong ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
