Job Overview

Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a skilled civil engineering project specialist to enhance our Civil Engineering Group. This role involves collaborating with a Senior Engineer on diverse project types, providing an excellent opportunity to engage in site development initiatives across various sectors, including healthcare, multifamily housing, commercial spaces, industrial sites, and educational institutions.

A typical week may involve overseeing and designing projects from initial concept through to construction completion. Responsibilities include managing engineers and technicians in the development of design calculations and reports related to site grading, stormwater management, potable water systems, sanitary sewer systems, and roadway design. This position fosters early career interactions with clients, architects, and contractors, alongside opportunities for involvement in marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize AutoCAD/Civil3D for the design, detailing, and coordination of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Lead and mentor a team of civil engineers and CAD technicians.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, contractors, and other design disciplines.
  • Conduct quality control checks on work produced.
  • Provide construction administration support, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), and conducting field observations.
  • Participate in project meetings throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Monitor project budgets and review or approve client invoicing.
  • Be prepared to work overtime as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Mexico or the ability to obtain one within three months.
  • 5 to 8+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering.

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in site development.
  • At least 1 year of experience holding a PE license.
  • Proficiency in Civil3D, StormCAD, FlowMaster, WaterCAD, and AutoTurn.
  • Familiarity with site entitlement processes in the Albuquerque metropolitan area.
  • A strong interest in participating in company initiatives.
  • Experience in construction fieldwork.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
