Job Title: Adult Education Enrollment Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Adult Education Enrollment Coordinator to join our team at Heartland Human Care Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering adult education programs, focusing on job readiness training for refugees and asylees. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals seeking education and career pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and develop high-quality instructional materials and lesson plans to support the specific needs of a diverse group of program participants.
  • Recruit and enroll participants, ensuring compliance with program eligibility guidelines.
  • Deliver culturally competent instruction, both online and in person, to program participants with special attention to literacy skills and the unique needs of individuals with interrupted formal education.
  • Develop and provide relevant life skills instruction to reduce barriers to employment, including public transportation ride-along, workplace tours, hands-on practice opportunities, and digital literacy skills instruction.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers, program assistants, and guest speakers to support participants during class and in early employment.
  • Track class attendance, participant engagement, and program outcomes, ensuring compliance with program goals, funding requirements, and contractual agreements.
  • Communicate with program graduates at regular intervals throughout their early employment, as defined by project funding requirements.
  • Consult regularly with colleagues, employer partners, refugee employment coalitions, other local and national refugee-specific employment programs, and experts in various career pathways to learn about best practices and support ongoing program improvement.
  • Collaborate with employment specialists and partnership developers to identify, cultivate, and establish external partnerships.
  • Maintain inventory of client support materials, including interview clothing, grooming kits, and transportation assistance.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma is required.
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience working with refugee and resettlement populations is required.
  • Relevant lived experience in refugee resettlement or forced migration may be considered.
