We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adult Educator - Career Bridge to join our team at City Colleges of Chicago. As an Adult Educator - Career Bridge, you will play a critical role in providing instruction and support to our Career Bridge students, a specialty subpopulation of Adult Education students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Language Arts, Math, and/or Career and Technical Training support instruction, contextualized to the career pathway, that supports students in meeting the Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for that course and preparing students for success in their next steps.
- Use CCC Adult Education core materials designed for each course, including those in the Learning Management System, such as Brightspace and/or My Open Math.
- Customize instruction with supplemental materials, as appropriate.
- Use CCC Adult Education course master syllabus to customize syllabus for each class.
- Share and discuss syllabi with students to ensure understanding of course expectations.
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to measure student progress toward SLOs and adjust instruction based on ongoing student assessments.
- Take attendance, monitor class enrollment and retention, submit grades, and enter information into the appropriate student system in a timely manner.
- Communicate with CCC staff to support Bridge students and ensure smooth operation of Bridge program.
- Comply with ICCB professional development requirements, including completing 12 required PD hours each fiscal year.
- Assist with program registration and orientation as requested.
- Attend and participate in staff development and program staff meetings, as required.
- Stay informed of campus resources and refer students to additional services as needed.
- Keep abreast of state and federal rules and regulations regarding Adult Education policies.
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university required, preferably in Adult Education, Education, Elementary or Secondary Education, English Language Arts, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college/university preferred in a related subject, i.e. Adult Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, Educational Policy, Elementary or Secondary Education, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- International degree(s) evaluated by a certified provider.
- Teaching and/or tutoring experience.
- Credentials or work experience in the related Career and Technical training pathways trades is a plus, though not required.
- Completion of satisfactory teaching demonstration for the hiring committee may be required at time of interview.
- Completion of ICCB ESL Standards Proficient Instructor Training within one year of hire.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Some proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).

Working HoursGeneral hours 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Specific shifts will be assigned based on course needed, due to enrollment.
