The Role: The Educational Programs Coordinator will be tasked with delivering captivating programming for educational and community partners, emphasizing revenue-generating engagements both on-site and off-site, aimed at youth and families while also supporting general educational operations.

This is a part-time role requiring availability on weekends and occasional evenings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate engaging and dynamic STEAM programming for youth and families, K-12 students, educators, and beyond, focusing on revenue-generating initiatives such as STEAM clubs, Innovation Studios, and Curiosity Stations.
  • Collaborate with the team to design software applications and machinery as well as STEAM-related content that meets client expectations (e.g., Inkscape, TinkerCad, Prusa, Retinaengrave, Fusion Edge).
  • Research and contribute to the development of high-quality K-12 STEAM programming.
  • Test, assess, and enhance existing programming.
  • Act as a community liaison for Griffin MSI and demonstrate programs for media outlets as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in facilitating STEAM-focused programs or program development in educational settings is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; advanced education is a plus.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable, capable of responding to unexpected situations, improvising solutions, and tailoring programs to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to safely operate high-tech fabrication equipment and materials relevant to programming.
  • Capacity to quickly learn new programming and master a variety of facilitation methodologies, including design software applications and machinery.
  • Must be able to travel for programming within the local area and occasionally for longer distances.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Language Skills:
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to communicate effectively before groups of employees.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to perform calculations involving addition, subtraction, percentages, etc.
  • Reasoning Skills:
    • Ability to solve practical problems and handle various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to perform tasks such as standing, sitting, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, lifting, pushing, carrying, and participating in physical activities.
    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment:
    • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
